“Daylight” - Matt & Kim
I think this is one of, like… seven songs on the planet that can lift my mood from complete shit to a smiling mess. It might have everything to do with the fact that the line “These shoes are poor man’s ice skates” strikes this chord inside of me that I can’t even explain. It makes me think of when I was younger and I get this instant feeling of light youth. It’s like my insides just rise up into my throat and I am immediately back in Regina’s bedroom at age six, trying to join the barefoot Ice Capades.
